POWAY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN

New in the 2025-2026 School Year: Universal Full-Day TK!
Beginning the 2025-26 school year, TK in PUSD will be a full-day program! The age-range for TK students will also expand, meaning children who turn four years old on or before September 1, 2025 will be TK eligible. (Note: students who turn five years old on or before September 1, 2025 will be eligible for Kindergarten, see chart below for details). Students who participate in TK attend school daily, including a scheduled lunch and recess.

2025-2026 TK ENROLLMENT WILL OPEN ON APRIL 1, 2025 AT 8:00AM

Additional Programs:

  • Extended Student Services (ESS): ESS offers before and after-school care programs. Before-school programs are limited to late start schools (8:45) -- see Start and Dismissal Times for school listings. Enrollment for ESS is a separate process from TK enrollment. Find out more information about ESS and enrollment instructions here.

  • Dual Immersion Enrollment: PUSD offers two Dual Language Immersion Programs for students, the Mandarin Chinese Immersion Program and the Spanish Dual Language Program. Each program creates academically competent, bilingual, and biliterate students through research-based practice and differentiated instruction. These programs can start as early as TK. Find out more information and enrollment instructions here.
