General Education: Home to School Busing
The State of California determined that transportation for general education students is not a mandatory service related to the educational process. Districts offering general education busing options are not fully reimbursed for the cost of operating these routes; therefore, the Poway Unified School District provides transportation services on a fee basis only. We provide home-to-school residence transportation for pupils in grades K-12 living outside the established non-transportable radius. Students residing within pre-determined transportation areas may apply for busing; students eligible for Transportation Service will be assigned a bus route and a bus stop on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Poway Unified School District offers transportation to the following school sites: Morning Creek Elementary, Willow Grove Elementary, Bernardo Heights Middle, Black Mountain Middle, Meadowbrook Middle, Oak Valley Middle, Twin Peaks Middle, Mt. Carmel High, Poway High, and Rancho Bernardo High.
Transportation Eligibility: Eligibility for busing is determined by the straight-line radius from the school of residence to the student’s home. Students residing within the "Non-Transportable Zones" are not eligible for services.
| School Level / Specific Schools |

| High Schools |

Eligibility and Bus Schedules
For eligible students, the Transportation Department will identify the closest appropriate pickup location. While the department aims for locations between the home and the school, stops are established based on safety, accessibility, and route efficiency.
