Real Property Advisory Committee

Pursuant to Education Code Section 17387 et seq., the Poway Unified School District's Real Property Advisory Committee has been established to review and consider the District's potential options regarding the District's current real property holdings.

7-11 Committee Process

  • Advisory Committee is formed to advise the Board on the need for school use of real property
  • Committee must have no less than 7 and no more than 11 members
  • The “7-11” Committee must:
    • Review Demographics
    • Investigate Potential Surplus Site(s)
    • Formulate Recommendations
    • Hold Public Hearings
    • Finalize Recommendations
  • Board reviews final report and recommendations from committee and, if appropriate, determines whether any real property is not needed for school purposes and could be made available for sale or lease as “surplus” property

Community Input & Ideas Sessions – Black Mountain Ranch Southern Site

PUSD is hosting two brainstorming sessions for interested community members to offer creative  input and ideas for possible alternatives for the Black Mountain Ranch Southern Site.  
Monday, March 1 - 5:30 to 7 pm   
Session 1 – Review of site specifics and open discussion of community ideas
Thursday, March 18 - 5:30 to 7 pm   
Session 2 – Follow up from Session 1 with additional community discussion and an evaluation of community ideas, as appropriate, shared in Session 1
