Project Padres

In collaboration with the San Diego Padres, Poway Unified School District's Technology and Innovation department has created Project Padres, an immersive learning experience hosted at Petco Park. This program helps students explore their strengths and interests, linking them to career fields within the Padres organization.

The Process

Before visiting Petco Park, students learn more about their personal strengths, interests, and passions through the RIASEC framework, which uses six themes to describe people’s interests and match them with careers. Students then learn about related careers within the Padres Organization. After visiting Petco Park, students apply their knowledge through the design thinking process, solving real-world scenarios related to their career of interest within the Padres organization. Students then submit their final design for consideration by the Padres Organization. Top designs are selected for a prize. Below are this year's winners in each RIASEC category.
