Construction: April to December 2007

Painted Rock has completed various renovations, modernizations, and additions because of Proposition U funding.

Painted Rock Elementary School was built in 1972.
The Principal: Jack Troxell

The scope of work include:
  • Utility upgrade/efficiency improvements
  • Add classrooms to accommodate class size reduction and to replace portable classrooms
  • Renovate/upgrade restrooms as needed
  • Modify/renovate library
  • Modernize classrooms, such as lighting, power/data, flooring, and marker boards
  • Renovate/expand staff work area
  • New multi-purpose room
  • ADA upgrades/compliance
  • Food service area expansion/renovation, including new covered lunch shelter
  • Site/playground improvements for safety and code compliance
  • Add/upgrade furniture and instructional equipment
  • Upgrade/replace communications and fire alarm system
To say 2007 was a busy year for staff and students is an understatement. Construction crews completed the project in nine months from April to December 2007, and we all did it together.
