Poway Unified Announces Its PUSD Classified Employees of the Year 
Christa McIntosh and Nancy Dannhauser Receive School District Honors
The Poway Unified School District is proud to announce that Christa McIntosh, Stone Ranch Elementary School Library Media Technician, and Nancy Dannhauser, Administrative Assistant II for Attendance and Discipline, have been chosen as the Poway Unified School District Classified Employees of the Year for 2016.

A committee of district and site representatives selected the two District Classified Employees of the Year (one representing school sites and one representing district departments) based on work performance, contributions to the school district, and community service.The San Diego County Office of Education also sponsors a Classified Employee Recognition Program, honoring up to six members of the classified service for all of San Diego County. 

This year’s Poway Unified nomination for the county-wide recognition is Nancy Dannhauser.

Christa McIntosh Library Media Technician, Stone Ranch Elementary School

 Christa McIntosh is the LMT at Stone Ranch Elementary, a school with almost 1,000 students.  She cares deeply about the importance of reading and literacy. Stone Ranch’s library has the highest circulation in the district because Christa, along with her well-trained volunteers, is willing to allow more than one book checked out at a time – she wants books in the hands of eager readers. She has collected donations and organized used book sales in order to increase resources in the library for students.

Christa also serves a very large staff always making sure their needs are met whether providing books to support curriculum lessons, book sets for study, or assisting teachers with resources for research projects.  She stays current with new technology tools and resources, attends district collaboration meetings between LMT colleagues, as well as county-offered training.

Nancy Dannhauser Administrative Assistant II, Attendance and Discipline

 Nancy Dannhauser’s supervisors describe her as “bright, resourceful, and diligent in completing tasks.” Nancy has the ability to accomplish large amounts of work in a short period of time. She enjoys and welcomes change and is always creating ways to improve office practices, taking the initiative to research ways to infuse technology into the department to increase efficiency and access for parents and staff. 

Nancy also volunteers her time to organize food and clothing drives, and sews/crochets for cancer patients.  Nancy is upbeat and committed to her job and the community. She serves as an inspiration to others.

This year’s Poway Unified nomination for the county-wide recognition is Nancy Dannhauser.
