What are Voyager and ElevatED?
Poway Unified’s Voyager (TK-5) and ElevatED (6-12) programs provide teachers with personalized professional learning sessions and in-class coaching that fosters student engagement and learning in a future-focused classroom environment. Innovation Coaches support teachers in understanding and implementing the Innovative Core Practices (ICPs) that focus on flexible learning environments, a balanced approach to purposeful technology integration, and meaningful feedback to support student-centered learning. The programs culminate with a showcase event where teachers share their learning and impact on students.

Professional Learning
Teachers engage in ongoing professional learning tailored to current classroom needs and implementation of research-based instructional practices, blended learning, and cutting-edge technologies. Through these learning sessions, teachers collaborate and learn alongside other innovative educators.
Coaching
A core component of the program focuses on collaboration between teachers and coaches. Working together, they develop personalized plans based on each classroom's unique needs. Throughout the year, coaches visit classrooms regularly, offering a variety of coaching styles to support teachers. These styles include expert guidance, collaborative planning, and cognitive coaching. Coaches often model lessons or co-teach alongside teachers to ensure the successful implementation of new practices.
Presentation of Learning
Teachers, administrators, and coaches gather for a special end-of-year event to celebrate Voyager teacher's incredible efforts. Teachers showcase their year-long learning and the impact on students through videos, photos, presentations, and students' work. Anchored in the program's focus on personal growth and reflection, this event honors the dedication and determination of program teachers.
