2019 State of the District

Using PUSD’s new Vision Statement of “creating culture and conditions to empower world class learners” as the theme, the event incorporated a performance from Poway High School’s Emerald Brigade Drumline as well as songs sung in Mandarin by Adobe Bluffs Elementary School’s Immersion Program. Guests were greeted as they arrived by students from Dr. Phelps’ Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council. Two ASB students from Oak Valley led the pledge of allegiance, along with the presentation of colors by Westview High School’s NJROTC color guard. Board President Dr. Darshana Patel welcomed distinguished guests and outlined the new Board Goals. The student speaker was PUSD Student Board Member Mariana Akins from Rancho Bernardo High School, who spoke about various teachers’ impact on her education. We want to thank all of our stakeholders who attended, for your continued support and partnership.
