Recruitment Open for Board Appointee to the Personnel Commission

(San Diego, CA) - The Poway Unified School District is seeking applicants to fill the vacancy for the Board appointee to the Personnel Commission. Personnel Commissioners are compensated at $50 per meeting, not to exceed $250 per month. In addition to compensation, commissioners receive a comprehensive health and welfare package, including medical, dental, vision, and $20,000 basic life insurance.

The Personnel Commission plays an essential role in maintaining a Merit System for the district, which influences hiring, retention, and career development opportunities for classified employees. The Commission helps ensure the district’s employment practices are lawful, fair, and equitable.

The Personnel Commission is composed of three members, each appointed for a three-year term, with one term expiring each year. This recruitment will fill the vacancy left by the Poway Unified School District's Board appointee. The term for this appointment will run until December 1, 2026, and if reappointed, the position will continue for a full three-year term.
