[Sacramento, CA] - The California School Public Relations Association (CalSPRA), a statewide organization that promotes better public understanding, commitment and support of public education, is pleased to announce that the Poway Unified School District received an Award of Excellence in the Social Media category for their "I am PUSD" campaign and an Award of Merit in the Multimedia/Visual category for their "Magic in Me" back-to-school music video. Additionally, Brittanie Arnett, Communications Specialist, was named the 2024 "Emerging Communicator of the Year." This prestigious award recognizes one school communication professional with 1-4 years of experience from throughout the state of California, who has already demonstrably contributed to the profession and is expected to continue advancing the profession. "Brittanie exemplifies what it means to be an emerging leader in school communications with a remarkable track record that speaks to her excellence and dedication to the field. Her talents and enthusiasm for school public relations are unmatched, and I am so proud that she was selected for this honor," said Christine Paik, Chief Communications Officer.

CalSPRA’s Excellence in Communication Awards program recognizes superior achievement in meeting strategic goals through high-quality communications and public relations programs. Each entry is evaluated by communication professionals on the overall excellence of the entry. Awards were presented at CalSPRA’s Annual Conference and Awards Banquet on March 1, 2024 in Sacramento.
