Greg Mizel Named Interim Superintendent for the Poway Unified School District

Mr. Mizel has over 30 years experience in public education, 20 of those in the Poway Unified School District. Prior to his current position as the Associate Superintendent of Student Support Services, Mr. Mizel served as Assistant Superintendent, Founding Principal of Del Norte High School, and Principal of Mesa Verde Middle School. He was recently named Counseling Administrator of the Year by the San Diego County Office of Education and Student Support Services Administrator of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators.


Board President Michelle O’Connor-Ratcliff stated, “I am confident that our entire Team PUSD’s excellent work ethic, dedication, and commitment on behalf of our students will continue under Mr. Mizel’s leadership. He has an excellent reputation, meaningful relationships, and cares deeply for each and every student and staff member in PUSD. I want to sincerely thank our community for your patience and understanding while we work to resolve these matters.”
