PUSD Schools and Offices Will Open Monday

The Poway Unified School District has been closely monitoring the weather watches and warnings for our area all weekend, and we have been in close contact with our public safety and educational partners, including the County of San Diego and The San Diego County Office of Education. Poway Unified schools and offices will open as scheduled tomorrow, Monday, August 21, 2023.

Our staff is prepared to move any outdoor activities indoors as necessary. As with any weather event, please allow for more time than usual for student pick-up and drop-off, and please ensure students are dressed appropriately, including proper footwear. Food and transportation services will also continue as normal.

Our schools are essential to our communities, and we remain committed to ensure teaching and learning continue in service of our students and families.

PUSD was able to successfully celebrate the first day of school last week; however, some districts have decided to delay their first day tomorrow due to the uncertainty of the impacts of this storm. Based on the information provided by the County, we will continue with classes tomorrow, like all surrounding districts that have already opened schools.

We look forward to seeing our students tomorrow. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will send additional notification if anything changes.
