Dear Westwood Families, August 1, 2023
We hope this letter finds you all well and enjoying a rejuvenating summer break! As we prepare to kick off the new academic year, we are excited to share some updates that will make this school year truly extraordinary.
Construction Projects:
Throughout the summer, our dedicated teams have been hard at work to enhance our school campus and provide an even better learning environment for our students and staff. We are thrilled to announce that several construction projects are nearing completion and will be ready for the start of the new year. The installation of solar panels in the parking lot is almost finished, with just a minor adjustment in the timeline for the first section. The rest of the project is on track, and the parking lot should be open before staff returns on August 14th. If you plan to visit the campus before the work is fully completed, please be aware that parking on the street might be necessary. The roofing team is making significant progress and assures us that the work will be completed before the start of school. All classrooms are now ready for use, and our custodial team has completed extensive cleaning, fine-tuning projects, and ensuring that all buildings are in top shape.
New Staff Members:
We are delighted to welcome some wonderful new additions to our elementary school family! Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Michele Scott, who will be joining us as a TK teacher. She brings a wealth of experience and a passion for education that will undoubtedly enrich our school community. Additionally, we are excited to introduce Sydnie Schneider, our new upper grade RSP teacher, who has shown great dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Let's ensure they feel warmly welcomed as they become part of our team.

August 16, 2023 First Day of school - please arrive by 7:40 - we encourage all to walk
August 17, 2023 Back to School Night
