(San Diego, CA) – The Poway Unified School District (PUSD) will be opening its phased New Student Enrollment and Continuing Student Registration windows beginning as early as March 1st this year. Continuing Student Registration (March 1-31, 2023) is required for all students TK through 11th grade that are already attending a PUSD school and are returning to a PUSD school for the 2023-24 school year. New Student Enrollment for PUSD preschool age students begins March 6, 2023. All other New Students, including current preschoolers who would be entering Transitional Kindergarten or Kindergarten in PUSD, and any students who are not attending a PUSD school begins April 1, 2023.

Continuing Registration: Registration Begins March 1, 2023
This process is for families with students that are currently in TK through 11th grade in Poway Unified. Beginning March 1, a digital packet must be completed for all returning students to secure their seats. Packets can be completed using any computer, tablet, or smart phone with internet connection. Access to the digital packet and detailed instructions can be found here. Families without a device or internet connection can contact their assigned school of residence for assistance.
Preschool: Enrollment Begins March 6, 2023
Children are eligible for PUSD Preschool if their birthday is April 3, 2019 – April 2, 2021. Enrollment for preschool begins with completing the Interest Form. The form opens March 6, 2023 at 8:00AM. Families will then be notified of placement and receive instructions via email the week of April 4, 2023. All documents and fees are due in order to confirm enrollment. Transitional Kindergarten: Enrollment Begins April 1, 2023
New this year: children are eligible for free Transitional Kindergarten (TK) if their birthday is September 2, 2018 – April 2, 2019. This is part of a phased-in process PUSD is using to implement California’s new Universal TK for all eligible 4-year-olds by the 2025-26 school year. TK is designed as the first year of a two-year kindergarten program that uses a modified kindergarten curriculum that is age and developmentally appropriate. Students who participate in TK will attend school daily for a partial day, including a scheduled lunch and recess. Contact your neighborhood school for specific hours. New Students, 1st-12th Grade: Enrollment Begins April 1, 2023
