(San Diego, CA) – Poway Unified School District (PUSD) School Bus Driver Edward Wicburg, one of PUSD’s Classified Employees of the Year, has also been named the San Diego County Classified Employee of the Year by the San Diego County Office of Education. His application has been submitted to the California Department of Education for consideration for state-level recognition.
Edward was one of 25 classified employees from various San Diego County school districts to be nominated at the county level and the only one to continue on as a candidate for the state honor. He will compete in the transportation services category.
“I’m honored and humbled to recognize Edward and all of his fellow nominees, who work tirelessly on behalf of San Diego County’s students,” said San Diego County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Paul Gothold. “They are the hidden heroes of education, playing key roles in the day-to-day functions of schools and districts.”
