What is CTE?

Career Technical Education (CTE) prepares students with the academic and technical skills, knowledge, and specific training necessary to be successful in future careers. Transferrable employability skills are developed that students are able to use in the world of work. 

 

Poway Unified School District CTE offers a variety of pathways in twelve Industry Sectors.

A career pathway is a distinct set of course sequences that take students through phases of technical learning. 

Students can get real world, hands on experiences in a career area that interests them and that connects to their core academics

Internships  and work-based learning opportunities embedded into most courses to provide meaningful experiences

Courses are infused with essential skills needed to prepare students for success in college and career

Possibility to earn industry certifications and early college credit through articulated or dual enrollment courses
