    February Focus:  Fairness

February is the month of Fairness.  In this video a reading of the book It’s Not Fair by Amy Krouse and Tom Lichtenheld offers some great opportunities for conversations about fairness.  Some ways to promote Fairness at home include:

~ Create a time and place for family members to express opinions and participate in decisions.

~ Embrace the uniqueness of each family member, avoiding comparisons with siblings and friends.

~ Clearly state and consistently apply rules and procedures.

~ Teach open-mindedness and well as consistency.

~ Talk frequently about fairness and fair play.

~ Model the equitable treatment of others, both inside and outside the family.
