The Academy at Meadowbrook Middle School

INFORMATION FOR ACADEMY FAMILIES
 

 April 24th, 2019:  Mandatory Family Night for NEW 6th, 7th, 8th grade Academy students and parent(s).  **If you have a continuing Academy student and a new Academy student, you should attend this event.  It is mandatory for your new Academy student to attend, but optional for the continuing student.**

Please be sure to arrive early, as parking can be a challenge.  The event begins at 5:15PM.  When you arrive, please pick-up your child's packet at the front of the MPR. The event will take place inside the MPR.  This event is mandatory for both parent(s) and student. You should plan to be at the event from 5:15PM-7:00PM.  

May 1st, 2019:  Family Night for Continuing  Academy families (students who already attend MBMS Academy and are continuing in the Academy in the 2019-2020 school year.)   This event is mandatory for parent(s) to attend, but optional for continuing students to attend.

The event will take place inside the Gym.  This event is mandatory for parent(s) and optional for student to attend. You should plan to be at the event from 5:15PM-6:30PM.  



 Meadowbrook Academy Lottery Process
  • District staff from IT and Learning Support Services (LSS) worked with the site staff to identify rules for the lottery to prioritize selection.
  • Siblings of continuing students, including twins or multiple births, are given priority if they have completed all expected requirements.
  • PUSD employee who works at Meadowbrook in alignment with CA ED code are given priority. 
  • All other students are randomly selected through a lottery from the remaining Interest Forms.
  • Children who live in PUSD attendance area and are interested in transferring, 85% of the draw is from elementary feeder schools of MBMS and 15% are from outside of the feeder schools area.
