CITIZENSHIP STANDARDS AND BEHAVIOR POLICY
All students are expected to maintain an appropriate conduct of behavior. This includes following directions, good sportsmanship, and no abusive language. If a student chooses not to follow these standards, it will affect his/her grade. Citizenship grades will be based on effort, attitude, and cooperation with others and is determined by the number of marks a student has against them for inappropriate behavior.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SAFE PARTICIPATION

Throughout the year the physical education classes at Meadowbrook will provide competent, progressive, sequential instruction and proper supervision. Every effort will be made to keep all facilities and equipment in good, safe, workable condition. Students are not expected to do anything inconsistent with the activity.

Students have a shared responsibility for their own safety participation and that of their fellow students. They are encouraged to call to the attention of any supervising adult any potentially dangerous situation. These might include:

  •  Facility conditions which may need attention
  •  Equipment that has broken or is in need of repair
  •  When students are not feeling well or are overly fatigued
  •  Unusual difficulty in performing a skill

All students are expected to follow the rules and regulations of the physical education department. This includes proper dress such as athletic shoes and protective equipment, eye guards, etc.

We all want a safe environment but it must be recognized that accidents do occur with active participation. In the past, injuries have been kept to a minimum by using good judgment and working together for safety.

In the event of extreme heat or inclement weather, modifications to the curriculum will be provided by the instructor.
