Principal's Message…

Dear Bobcat Families,
I am honored that the Poway Unified School District Board of Education has appointed me as the new principal of Bernardo Heights Middle School.  My passion for education and supporting student success brings me to this position and I welcome the opportunity to serve the Bernardo Heights community. I look forward to working with our dynamic staff and dedicated parents.  Most of all, I am excited to begin working with our students and continuing the outstanding work that is happening at Bernardo Heights Middle School.
I come to Bernardo Heights Middle School from Del Norte High School were I have served for the past six years as an Assistant Principal.  Prior to my service as a site administrator, I served as a classroom teacher for seven year at San Marcos High School and four and a half years at La Jolla High School and Wangenheim Middle School in San Diego City Schools.
I know that Bernardo Heights has a history of excellence and I am excited to partner with the staff, students, and families to continue in this tradition. There is excellent work happening at Bernardo Heights and my goal is to continue building on this strong foundation to move Bernardo Heights to the next level. Working together, we will continue to provide our students outstanding educational opportunities so that they will achieve their highest potential as they transition to high school.
On a personal note, my husband is a professor at CSU San Marcos, and we have two wonderful children, ages 9 and 6.  Parenting is truly a humbling experience and I plan to partner with you to support you and your students through this amazing journey we are on.
I look forward to the opportunity to meet you and begin to build my relationship with the students, staff, and families of Bernardo Heights Middle School.  I can be reached via email at and my door will always be open to you.
