Intradistrict Transfer Timeline

If you live in the Poway Unified School District boundaries and are interested in requesting a transfer to a school that is not your school of residence, you must submit a request during the transfer window of February 1 – March 31, 2020. No transfer requests will be accepted outside of this window, no exceptions. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2020-21 TEACHER OF THE YEAR – MR. CHRIS FOUSEK!

Mr. Fousek teaches Civics at Westview and has held a leadership role on campus since Westview opened in 2002. Mr. Fousek has served a variety of capacities ranging from a TOSA position during his second year of teaching to a Department Chair role. His love for motivating and guiding teenagers toward becoming civic minded critical thinkers gives him a sense of accomplishment. Westview is very fortunate to have a teacher like Mr. Fousek bringing such positivity to our students.   


CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2020-21 CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR – MRS. JOCELYN GARCIA!

Mrs. Garcia is Westview’s Administrative Specialist supporting students, counselors, teachers and Administrators working in our Wolverine Center.  Jocelyn always has fresh ideas on how to mainstream projects to maximize workloads.  Jocelyn makes the Wolverine Center a welcoming place for students and staff alike with her smile and her desire to help.    


Black History Month

Westview will be celebrating Black History Month throughout the month of February. During this month, we will have Black recognition posters up throughout campus. ASB in conjunction with BSU (Black Student Union) will host events the week of February 24-28.


Senior Cap and Gown

Seniors who missed the deadline to reserve a senior cap and gown can still order online or call 1-800-JOSTENS but a late fee will be applied. Online Orders: www.jostens.comPhone Orders: 1-800-JOSTENS


Lost and Found Items

Lost and found items are located near the front gates. Valuable items such as phones, ID cards, wallets, etc. will be given to the front desk. Reminder: Items left for students are the student's responsibility to pick up either at the front gate or the front desk. We do not interrupt instructional time to deliver forgotten items or items left by parents. Items not picked up by 2:30 pm will go into the Lost and Found located at the front gate. We also do not deliver messages to students.


Westview Friday Tradition

As is Westview tradition - we encourage all students, staff, and faculty to wear Westview spirit wear or all black every Friday. Westview gear can be purchased online in our webstore. 


"Start Smart" Driving Class

To receive a 2019-2020 Westview Student Parking Permit, you must attend/have attended a Start Smart class. Westview will be hosting a Start Smart class May 19 at 5:45 pm-7:30 pm in the Staff Lounge with limited seating availability. Please submit your reservation request to sabblitt@powayusd.com (be sure to include student's name, ID number, grade and school) or see her at the Attendance Window. 


Westview Sporting Events

Please remember when attending all Westview sporting events hydroflask type containers are NOT ALLOWED, all bags are subject to inspection, and only unopened water bottles will be allowed at event.
