THOUGHTEXCHANGE – ENDS TONIGHT!!
Our new District wide survey through Thoughtexchange will be available next week. We look forward to having a large number of our parents sharing their thoughts about this year’s question: “What things do we need to focus on to ensure our students are college, career, and life ready.”  For those of you have participated before you know how easy and user-friendly Thoughtexchange is to use.  For first-timers, this platform is a really innovative and improved way to share ideas and consider on another’s thinking.  Please take a moment to watch the introductory video from Superintendent Phelps: https://youtu.be/e5zF_IyD03A  To participate, go to this link  https://my.thoughtexchange.com/#p915330432 and enter the code 915330432.
Once you have shared your thoughts, please return and add stars to the new thoughts that have been added since you participated. That will help us understand what’s most important to the group. Your input is really important to us so we can set District goals and budget priorities to support our mission in providing college, career, and life readiness to all students.
Participation will be open until February 14, 2020

MEASURE P INFORMATION
While our school facilities are in pretty good shape, that’s not the case for our feeder schools like MVMS.  Many of our local schools and facilities are outdated and deteriorating and need to be repaired and upgraded to ensure all students have equal access to classrooms, labs and career-training facilities they need for future success. Without adequate funding for these improvements from the state, we need to seek alternate sources of funding.  (Please see the attached one-page flyer)

PARENT EDUCATION
  • Nurturing Sexual Intelligence in Our Children – All Grades Many parents and caregivers struggle to come up with age-appropriate answers to sexually-related questions. Your child needs authentic answers to develop the knowledge and skills required for self-care.  Learn how to welcome your child’s questions and nurture the sexual intelligence they need to navigate healthy relationships throughout life.   Saturday, February 15th Poway Adult School from 9:00am-11:00am
  • Class fee: $16/individual or $27/couple
  • NEW  Preparing Positively for Puberty – TK-8th Grade  We can prepare our children for puberty by teaching them what to expect as their bodies transition from childhood to adulthood. Learn how to break down "the big puberty talk" into tiny talks that are more comfortable for both caregivers and children. Participants will review resources such as books and web sites that can simplify the process of starting a tiny talk. Activities that can promote a positive and practical attitude toward this important life stage will be discussed.   Tuesday, February 25th Abraxas High School from 6:00pm-8:00pm
  •                    Class fee: $16/individual or $27/couple
