March and April’s Super Power: Caring
Caring people love, help, give and are kind. They are caretakers of people, pets, plants, possessions and even the planet. Caring people show their concerns for others in active ways.
Caring people are:

  • Kind
  • Compassionate and show they care
  • Express gratitude
  • Forgive others
  • Help people in need

arent's Night Out (MAY 16th at 6PM) is shaping out to be a really fun night where parents of HRE can connect, delight in food & drinks, enjoy entertainment from the Center for World Music -- the music program our children enjoy at HRE, and partake in a silent and live auction!
Get your tickets now by visiting: ($30* per person (use code Earlybird) $35*  after April 1, 2020) or email Maya Pinchman at
While many exceptional auction items have already been donated for the event, we are turning to the parents and grandparents of HRE to see if anyone can donate a timeshare or vacation house/rental to the Spring Auction! The more amazing items we have to offer at the auctions, the more money we can raise to continue to pay for our children's Science, Music, PE, Art, and Choir.
If you have a donation you can contribute to the event please contact: Maya Pinchman at
Likewise, if you'd like to get involved/help with Spring Auction we'd LOVE to have you -- we need all hands on deck! Please contact: Maya Pinchman at

Reading for pleasure has real and long-lasting benefits. It unlocks the power of information and imagination and helps kids discover who they are. Help your child develop stronger reading skills and a love for reading by:
  • Set the example - let your kids see you read!
  • Having a collection of books in the home. Update this collection routinely to keep pace with changing tastes and reading skills.
  • Supporting our school’s Scholastic Book Fair. Allow your kids to choose their own books they’ll love.

Our Buy One, Get One Free Book Fair is a reading event that brings books to your child’s school that they want to read. It’s a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Please make plans to visit our Book Fair and help shape your child’s reading habits. Our Book Fair will be in the MPR from March 31st to April 3rd.
We are in need of supplies and volunteers. We opened up more slots for volunteers so be sure to sign up! Please come to the rescue and purchase supplies (drop off in the Office) and volunteer at the following links
Did you know that for $10 per person each school year, you can make a difference in our school for our children?  Join the PTA today! It is never too late and you don't even have to volunteer your time (unless you want to, of course)!  By joining, not only do you support fun events throughout the year for our students and their families to make lifelong memories, you also make a difference in providing updates, necessities, and supplies at HRES!  Your membership also allows PTA to provide each of our teachers with a supply budget each year, helps fund the art program at HRES, and it increases our voice to be heard at the district and state level! Our goal is to get to 300 members this year and we are currently at 205.  Every teacher at HRES has joined the PTA at $10 for the year but we also need your support, our parents and families! Please join today at and receive a Buy 1, Get 1 Free ice cream cone coupon from Baskin Robbins!  More member benefits can be found HERE!  Thank you!
New this year - RECOGNITION ADS!!  Recognition ads are a great way to allow parents to recognize students and teachers in the yearbook.  Ads come in 4 sizes. See for more details.
The last day to order your yearbook and upload those pictures is Friday, April 17th.  The yearbook editors need time to edit and proofread the yearbook before submitting to print. The Yearbook Committee (parent volunteers) is always in the process of needing pictures to include in the yearbook, and we would like your help.  You can upload your student’s pictures at the various school activities and events. Even if you don’t buy a yearbook, you can still upload photos using and enter our school code 1013489799753947.  Your photos will help our yearbook committee editors as they continue to work on the yearbook.  All pictures should have been taken within HRES campus or at places where a school-sponsored activity has taken place.  If you have any questions, please email us at
Don’t forget to send in your box tops and scan your receipts! Our next contest will go until April 3. If we can reach $100 (1000 box tops or scans) the WHOLE SCHOOL gets a popsicle party! Download the new Box Tops mobile app on any smart phone in the app store. The new app allows you to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to our school’s earnings online. If you still have traditional Box Tops clips at home, make sure to send them to school. Don’t forget, you can “double dip” during the packaging transition by clipping traditional Box Tops AND scanning your store receipt containing participating products. Thanks for helping our school get what it needs!
