Project Know and GrowYour Donation Makes a Difference!

When our schools closed, PUSD committed to serving meals to all children in our community who needed food, regardless of whether they were PUSD students or whether they were eligible to receive free or reduced meals. To date, the District has served over 120,000 free meals, and will continue to do so because no child should have to worry about going hungry during these difficult times. Unfortunately, the District is only reimbursed by the federal government for a small percentage of those meals. Thus, PUSD is operating at an unsustainable loss of $165,000 per week for this program.

In addition, while the District was able to distribute 7,500 Chromebooks to students and families, there are still those that are without access to a device or internet at home. Dr. Phelps has a vision to ensure all 36,500 PUSD students are connected now and into the future. Achieving one-to-one devices in PUSD would cost $6 million, yet PUSD is the lowest-funded unified school district in San Diego County.

Please help us feed our students’ minds and bodies by making a tax-deductible donation today.
