TITLE IX OF THE EDUCATION AMENDMENTS OF 1972

“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”

Sexual Harassment Policy

PUSD policy prohibits sexual harassment of students at school or at school-sponsored or school-related activities. The Board also prohibits retaliatory behavior or action against any person who reports, files a complaint or testifies about, or otherwise supports a complainant in alleging sexual harassment.

Uniform Complaint Procedures

The district complies with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the California Education Code 234.1. The district will investigate and resolve sexual harassment complaints under Poway Unified School Board policy AR 1312.3 - Uniform Complaint Procedures.
