Message From Mr. Fisher
Many of you are aware of the Poway High School “Digital Oasis Center,” located near the center of campus off of the N Quad. This center was created last fall as a result of a partnership with Hewlett-Packard and a concept which has worked successfully in HP centers for several years. The center is comprised of high quality printers, computers, and software that allow people to create, design, and print in a variety of ways. The Titan Digital Oasis is available not only to staff and students, but our parents as well. We are pleased to announce to all of you that Oasis will once again be active on our campus for the 2009-2010 school year.
The primary reason I am encouraging you to use the Titan Digital Oasis is that all profits are used to support the students of Poway High School. The profits generated in the center are re-routed back to staff to support important classroom needs. Every time you spend money in this center, it is money invested in your child and the rest of our students. Times are lean financially and this is just another way you can support our kids. The center is open to parents on Tuesday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. Your support is appreciated!

News and Information
High school students and parents of PUSD are welcome to attend the 2009 College Fair at Del Norte High School on Tuesday, October 20th from 6:00-8:30. Over 130 private, public and out of state universities will be in attendance to discuss academic programs and admissions requirements for their schools. In addition, there will be two college related informational sessions beginning at 6:15 and 7:05 Del Norte High School is located at 16601 Nighthawk Lane, San Diego. Shuttle busses will be leaving from Mt. Carmel and Poway High school every 20 minutes beginning at 5:15.

- Senior Portraits
Visual Photography in Sabre Springs is the official portrait studio for Poway seniors. All students who will graduate in 2010 must have their senior portrait for the yearbook taken at Visual Photography. Although there is no fee to appear in the yearbook, there is an optional charge to choose from a variety of poses. Please contact Visual Photography immediately to guarantee a session time before the deadline of September 30, 2009. Call 858.679.9721 to reserve an appointment. Pictures taken after September 30th run the risk of not being included in the 2009 yearbook.

- IS YOUR STUDENT’S EMERGENCY AND CONTACT INFORMATION CORRECT?
To update information to your student’s record (phone number, address change, e-mail address, emergency contacts, etc), this is now done on-line for your convenience. On the district website click on the link Online Student Information Update or go to http://onlinereg.powayusd.com and follow the easy steps to check or update this information. You will need to activate your parent account if you have not already done this (Use your LEARNING POINT login and Password). Parents can contact the help desk 858-748-0010 X2854 if they encounter problems with their login. If you have more than one student, you will need to login separately for each student.
***Changes made to your address will require additional forms and documents available via links on the website. Please print and complete the necessary forms if required and send in to the school with your student. Other changes may involve making an appointment with the school. You will be notified by the school if this is necessary.
