6th Grade Camp

Camp Cuyamaca departure is 5 school days away!
Below are some reminders as we prepare for camp departure:
Sending Mail to your 6th Grader at Camp:
You may begin mailing letters directly to camp now so that your child receives it on time.  Please send to: Camp Cuyamaca 12561 Hwy 79, Descanso, CA 91916,” ATTN: Child’s Name / Oak Valley Middle”  or, if more convenient,  bring your letter(s) to the Oak Valley Assistant Principal’s office no later than 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday January 25th.  If you would like your student to send mail back to you in return, please provide your student with envelopes and stamps (or postcards); self-addressed is best! 
If you are sending medication to camp for your student, please note the deadlines below:
The Camp Medication Authorization Form should be submitted to our health tech, Anne Shaughnessy, immediately.
January 18, 2017 - Your child’s medications should be placed in a labeled zip lock bag and submitted to our heath tech, Anne Shaughnessy, no later than January 18, 2017. Your student may not carry any medication, prescription or over-the-counter, on their person or in their luggage.
Early Luggage Drop Off:
Sunday January 22, 2017 - We will hold our “Early Luggage Drop-Off” in the OVMS bus loop from 2:00-4:00PM. OVMS staff will be loading the trucks that will be locked and secured behind multiple closed gates for the evening. If you can’t make the Sunday drop off, the luggage trucks will be parked in front of the school on Monday morning at 6:30AM. The luggage trucks will depart at 9:00 AM, any items not on the truck will not go to camp.
Camp Departure, Monday, January 23rd:
Bus Ride: Students are *not* to bring backpacks, snacks, water bottles, or luggage onto campus or on the bus. Please pack all backpacks and empty water bottles in your child’s luggage. Once luggage is loaded onto the truck, parents/students on campus will not have access to it, so please plan accordingly.
Departing Students: Students are to report to their assigned social studies teacher when the bell rings at 8:15AM. Busses will leave Oak Valley when we complete our departure protocol (attendance, check-in, meds, chaperones, etc.). Parents are strongly encouraged to say their goodbyes at the 8:15AM drop off.
