  •   TK Interest Wait List Begins MARCH 1st for 2017-2018

Parents of children with a fifth birthday between September 2, 2017 and December 2, 2017 do not need to place your child’s name on the wait list!  Your child is eligible for TK and the wait list is not necessary; you only need to enroll your child at your home school during their registration in May. Parents of children with a fifth birthday between June 1st and September 1st, 2017 who wish to enroll their child into a TK class, MUST place their name on a District Interest Wait List. Select "TK Interest Wait List" link  to complete and submit the required form to put your child’s name on the list.  TK waitlist assignments will not be made until June or later, you will still need to enroll your child into your home school Kindergarten program while awaiting TK availability confirmation. Should a TK opening be available, the assigned TK school site will notify parents on the Interest List. The parent will then be given 48 hours to enroll. Due to increased numbers of students required to enroll in TK, please note space is very limited and will be determined on a first-come, first served basis.

EQUITY OF TIME TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN WAIVER The California Department of Education approved a request from PUSD to waive Education Code Section 37202(a) allowing Transitional Kindergarten (TK) students to attend school for a half day program.

Character Counts - This month’s focus is CARING

The definition of caring is someone or something that shows kindness and concern for others. A person who is concerned about others and who does kind things for them is an example of someone who would be described as caring:

    • Treat people with kindness and generosity.
    • Help people in need.
    • Never be mean or hurtful.
    • Think about how your actions will affect others.
    • Always remember - we become caring people by doing caring things!
