SECOND TRIMESTER PROGRESS NOTICES
Second trimester progress notices will be sent home this Friday, March 10th. We hope that you enjoy reviewing them with your child and celebrating all of the progress they have made.

PTA BOARD MEETING
All are welcome to the next PTA Board meeting to be held this Wednesday, March 8th
in the staff lounge at 7pm. We’ll be talking about all the exciting things we are doing this spring. Come on out, bring a friend!
Multicultural Night is coming up on April 28th
and we are still looking for volunteers. We rely heavily on volunteers to pull off this huge event and to man the country booths. So, if you have an hour or two to spare please consider helping out. It is a wonderful opportunity for your children to learn more about the world we live in. Please contact Kristi Worley, Beth Greenwood or Gael Gilson for more information on how you can get involved.

Tweens In Action!
From the publishers of Active Parenting of Teens… Teens in Action is a high-energy, video-based program for tweens (current 5th graders) and their parents. Teens in Action is a fun way to help them understand changes in their bodies and brains; communicate in a mature way with adults and others; develop skills for resisting negative peer pressure and learn techniques for peaceful conflict resolution. Teens will meet in one classroom while their parent(s) meet in another classroom. New this year!

TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN INTEREST LIST 2017 – 2018 – MARCH 1ST
Parents of children with a fifth birthday between June 1st
and September 1st
, 2017 who wish to enroll their child into a TK class, MUST place their name on a District Interest Wait List. The wait list opens on March 1st

Please note, parents of children with a fifth birthday between September 2, 2017 and December 2, 2017 do not need to place their child’s name on the wait list. Your child should be enrolled in TK and the wait list is not necessary. You will need to enroll your child at Tierra Bonita on Tuesday, May 2nd
This coming school year, Tierra Bonita Elementary School will open a NEW half-day Preschool Class. The class hours will be 8 – 11 AM with 4 year old students attending on M/W/F and 3 year old students on T/Th. Parents can choose to participate/volunteer in the class 2-3 days per month for a reduced tuition as noted on the website. “Registration Request” forms for 2017-2018 will be accepted February 1 – March 1, 2017. All completed forms are automatically sent directly to the PUSD Preschool Administration Office. A lottery process may be required if the requests for a class exceeds openings in the class. Parents will be notified starting the week of March 13th about class placements or wait list status. Registration Request forms received after March 1st will be processed in the order received. Children must be 3 before September 1, 2017 to enroll in preschool. State-funded free Preschool class registration begins at the end of April for families who are income eligible. ADOBE BLUFFS FLES PROGRAM
Adobe Bluffs Elementary School is proud to offer the “Foreign Language in Elementary School” or FLES program. All students at ABES participate in FLES and enjoy two weekly sessions of Mandarin language and Chinese cultural lessons in addition to the existing elementary school curriculum..*FLES is not a dual immersion language program. If interested, you are invited to attend one of two parent meetings on March 13 either at 7:45 AM or 6:00 PM in the ABES Multi-Purpose Room to find out more information.
