Remember to buy your yearbook soon, if you haven't already! All yearbooks come with two free pages to personalize. If you want some help doing your pages, you may attend the yearbook workshop on Thursday, April 20 1:00 – 2:00. The  yearbook staff will help you get your page print-ready.  The yearbook team has many pictures to choose from, but you may also bring your pictures on a disk or thumb drive, or upload them to our treering.com yearbook site ahead of time. Deadline for personalized pages is the end of the day on Monday, April 24. If doing an extra page is too tough right now, don't worry: another pre-designed alternative page will be put in your yearbook. Yearbooks cost $20. To get started, you can go to: www.treering.com  and enter the school's password: 1014697386031160.
Transitional kindergarten is a two year program for those students who turn 5 September 2 – December 2.  Parents may submit a request for TK if their child turns 5 June 1 – September 1 and would benefit from the two year kindergarten program.  These requests are granted as space is available; place your request by completing the interest form. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdci1-6jP4q8P2GHcRmhaNM7nNdoBAJil0HI_YWJuXnux44sA/viewform?c=0&w=1
Enrollment for the 2017 -18 school year begins on May 1.  The appointment calendar will be available on our website mid-April.  Further information on enrollment requirements may be found on the PUD website by clicking on the ENROLLMENT tab.  Kindergarten students will need to have immunizations up to date, a signed CHDP form by your physician and an Oral Health report signed by a dentist.  This is a great time to make those appointments!
Adobe Bluffs Elementary School is proud to offer the “Foreign Language in Elementary School” or FLES program. All students at ABES participate in FLES and enjoy two weekly sessions of Mandarin language and Chinese cultural lessons in addition to the existing elementary school curriculum..*FLES is not a dual immersion language program.  If interested, you are invited to attend one of two parent meetings on March 13 either at 7:45 AM or 6:00 PM in the ABES Multi-Purpose Room to find out more information.  If interested in a school tour, contact Principal Eddie Park at  epark@powayusd.com
3rd – 5th graders will be participating in the Smarter Balanced assessments in April.  They would benefit greatly from enhanced typing skills!  Students log in through their MyPlan with their ID and Password.  From the Dashboard, click on Typing Agent; students will be taken to their next lesson or where they left off in their session.
To make the most of Typing Agent make sure your student uses the home row keys:  ASDF JKL; They should sit up straight; have their feet flat on the floor, their body centered in front of the computer, fingers curved and wrists low.
Focus on accuracy!  This is the key to successful and efficient keyboarding.  Efficiency, which turns to speed is the goal and can only be attained with proper technique.  And remember, MAKE IT FUN!  Celebrate time spent practicing, improved accuracy and efficiency!
