A registration packet with a green cover sheet was sent home with your student on Friday. It is critical that we receive the packet back no later than Thursday, April 27. Chaparral is an impacted school and in order to ensure that we have a seat for your student in the upcoming school year, all forms must be returned on time. NEW!Chaparral Named to Honor Roll
Chaparral Elementary was named to the 2016-17 Honor Roll presented by the Educational Results Partnership and the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence. ERP is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that works with foundations, school districts, non-profit organizations and businesses to improve educational productivity along the educational productivity along the education to workforce pipeline. It started the California Honor Roll in the partnership with a coalition of business to recognize public elementary, middle, and high schools that demonstrate consistently high levels of student academic achievement, Improvement in achievement overtime, and reduction and achievement gaps.
REMINDER! Smarter Balanced Testing Continues
Our Smarter Balanced Testing is now open for our 3rd through 5th graders and will continue into the month of May. Please make sure that your students are on time each day, as well as sleeping well and eating a healthy breakfast each morning! Also, please make every effort to schedule appointments for after school hours; this will minimize disruption to not only your student, but to their classmates as well. Finally, we will be allowing visitors/volunteers on campus during the testing period, but we ask that you be quiet as you’re moving around the campus.
NEW!2017-2018 Registration - Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten
Mark your calendars! Registration for incoming Kindergarten and TK students will begin on Wednesday, May 3, from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Registration forms will be available for you to download and print from the PUSD website beginning on May 1. Please do not print the forms that are currently on the website...they are for this year only and will not be accepted for next year. In addition to a completed registration packet, you will need to bring two proofs of residency, your child’s birth certificate or passport, and their current immunization records. Ongoing registration will take place daily from May 5 through June 22, in our office, from 12:30pm to 2:00pm.
