Family Dances

Couch Change Challenge (Monday, March 20 - Thursday, April 6)

Is your purse weighing you down? Do your pockets jingle-jangle? Is your coin jar overflowing? We can help you out!!  The All For Kids Book Drive needs your change. The Book Fair is raising money for your fellow Chaparral students. We feel every kid deserves a book and your spare change can help a lot.

Deposit your change in your classroom change jar between: March 20-April 6 (Yes we will accept the kind that folds too!) and the class that donates the most change will win a popsicle party!!

Forgot to bring your change? No problem, donations can also be made when you are purchasing books at the Book Fair.

 

UPDATED! Spell-a-thon (Wednesday, March 29)

Just a friendly reminder that all donations (via online and in school) must be turned in by midnight March 29 to be eligible for any of our prizes.  Come visit our community gathering on Friday March 31 to hear the winners announced.   You can donate by sending in cash or check (made payable to CEF) or by donating online at https://secure.eventsonline.us/reg/getmovincrew/parents.

First Grade Teacher Date (Wednesday, March 29)
First graders - don’t miss the opportunity to show your teachers and your fellow 1st graders your awesome dance moves THIS Wednesday, March 29!  This fun-filled first grade event will take place in the MPR from 1:35-3:00 p.m. and the cost is $20 per student. UPDATED! Spring Book Fair (Friday, March 31)

“The Happy Campers” Spring Book Fair is coming March 31-April 7.  Volunteers can sign up at: https://tinyurl.com/HawksVolunteer17. The Book Fair is open to students during regular class visits and open to the public the following UPDATED dates and times: Friday, 3/31: 3:30-6:00 p.m., Wednesday, 4/5: 8:15-9:00 a.m., and Friday, 4/7: 8:30-12:00p.m (open during paper picnic).

 

 

Parent and Me Safety Presentation by Play it Safe Defense  (Friday, March 31)

Play It Safe Defense will host the ever popular “Go Chihuahua Crazy”, a stranger danger and safety presentation Friday, March 31, at 6:00 p.m. in the Chaparral MPR. This free event is hosted by the Chaparral PTA and is open to all Chaparral families.  You and your child will learn invaluable lessons in h you and your family the skills to avoid potential danger. Dining for Dollars (Tuesday, April 4)

Consider every Tuesday night dinner in April HANDLED! Our Dining for Dollars fundraisers are back and this time it’s The Kebab Shop!!  Every Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. present the attached flyer and 50% of the proceeds will come back to Chaparral. Art at Dark (Thursday, May 11)

Calling all volunteers! We need your help to make our third annual Art at Dark event a success. This event is run by volunteers so everyone is welcome who is willing to lend their time: parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, friends, we will take them all.  If you are someone who cannot be on campus due to your schedule, this is your event!  Art at Dark is held from 5-7 p.m. so this is the perfect opportunity to volunteer after business hours. *We are in need of recycled paper towel rolls (cardboard part) and egg carton donations. Please drop off your donations in the office in the box labeled “Art at Dark”.
